Child and adolescent assessments

Comprehensive psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations designed to highlight strengths and clarify the areas where support is needed.

What is a neuropsychological assessment?

A neuropsychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of how a person thinks, learns, and manages emotions. It measures skills such as attention, memory, language, and executive functioning, then connects the results into one clear picture: what is happening, why, and what will help.

Why families seek an assessment

  • A child is struggling with reading, writing, or math despite real effort
  • Concerns about attention, focus, or organization at school or home
  • Questions about social communication or developmental differences
  • A bright student whose grades do not match their ability
  • Gifted program or school admissions testing
  • Documentation needed for college, career, or standardized test accommodations
  • A second opinion on school district testing
Our evaluations

Find the assessment that fits your question

ADHD evaluations

Attention is more than sitting still. Our ADHD evaluations examine attention and executive functioning in depth, separate attention variations from look-alike causes, and end with practical strategies for home and school.

Autism spectrum evaluations

We assess social communication and developmental differences with care and respect, whether you are seeking a first evaluation for a young child or answers for a teen or young adult. Findings come with support plans, never labels alone.

Dyslexia and learning disability evaluations

When a capable child struggles with reading, writing, or math, we find out precisely why. Our psychoeducational testing maps academic skills against underlying learning processes, so the recommended support matches the actual need.

Gifted testing

For gifted program and school admissions, we provide the testing schools require, and we capture a fuller picture of your child's abilities along the way, including areas where even gifted learners need support.

Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)

When families and schools need an independent, qualified second opinion on a school district's testing, our doctors conduct IEEs that stand up in IEP meetings, with findings and recommendations explained clearly.

College and career accommodations

Young adults need current, thorough documentation to receive accommodations in college, graduate programs, and the workplace. Our young adult assessments also examine the transition to adulthood, from daily functioning to emotional well-being.

What to expect

Five steps from first call to clear answers

  1. Intake interview

We begin with a parent intake interview and a careful review of medical, developmental, and school history. You tell us the story. We listen.

  2. Gathering perspectives

With your permission, we communicate with teachers, physicians, or therapists so the evaluation reflects how your child functions across settings.

  3. Testing sessions

Your child completes a series of age-appropriate tests with one of our doctors. Sessions are paced to keep kids comfortable and engaged.

  4. Feedback meeting

We meet with you to walk through the results in plain language, answer your questions, and talk through what the findings mean for daily life and school.

  5. A clear written report

You receive a comprehensive written report with clear, individualized next steps you can act on with your school, physician, or therapist.

A common question

How does this differ from school testing?

Schools test to determine eligibility for services. We evaluate to understand your child. Both matter, and they answer different questions.

School testingComprehensive private evaluation
PurposeDetermines eligibility for special education servicesExplains how your child learns and exactly what will help

Beyond the evaluation

Answers matter most when they turn into action. Our doctors also provide school observations and teacher consultations, consultation on treatment and educational planning, and participation in IEP, 504, and team meetings.
